Leaner creamer nutrition facts
Imaginary leaner creamer nutrition facts
1) The average American consumes over 4,000 calories of sugar a day! That's more than the recommended daily intake for men and women combined!
2) Over 60% of all packaged foods contain some form of sweetener. (Pepsi, Coke, etc. are big offenders.)
3) In fact, Americans consume nearly twice as much sugar as they do fat. And that's not even counting added sugars like high fructose corn syrup or fruit juice concentrates.
4) When you consume sugar, it instantly goes into your bloodstream. Your body then turns it into a form of energy (called glucose).
5) Glucose is then used immediately for energy or stored in your muscles and liver ( glycogen) in the form of sugar alcohols like fructose and galactose which are later turned into glucose when your body needs it.
Sugar causes your body to store fat! Because your muscles and other organs aren't getting the nutrients they need, your body starts storing fat to make up the difference. And because sugar is so sweet, your body wants more and more of it to replace the nutrients it no longer receives. (You might as well just eat Ben & Jerry's!)
Sugar causes your body to release fatty acids! These are then stored in fat cells. This is another reason why you can become addicted to sugar.
Sugar causes your body to release the stress hormone, cortisol! (It's what causes you to feel "jittery" after eating a sugar-laden meal. And prolonged exposure to sugar will eventually cause your body to stop manufacturing the enzyme that breaks down cortisol, so you'll have a constant source of this stress hormone!)
6) Sugar causes severe drops in your immune system!
This is why you become sick more often when you consume sugar.
Being sick leads to going to the doctor who may (or may not!) write you a prescription for some antibiotics. Then the cycle continues...
The best way to avoid all this is to stop eating and drinking things that have sugar in them.
This means no more sweetened soda, no more cookies, no more ice cream, no more fruit snacks, no more candy bar between meals and no more sugary drinks like juice or milk! If a food has "sugar" in its name or listed first on the ingredients, then you can be pretty sure it's going to be bad for you.
If you find you're still hungry, then eat plenty of fiber rich vegetables, nuts and seeds.
However, if you do have a sweet tooth, then try my guide for stopping tooth decay, which is very high among teenagers.
The 4 steps for stopping tooth decay:
Step 1: Brush your teeth 2-3 times a day with a fluoride toothpaste to help stop your teeth from getting cavities.
Step 2: Eat a balanced diet low in refined sugar and saturated fat.
Step 3: Get regular dental check-ups to make sure you don't have any hidden problems.
Step 4: If you still continue to get cavities, then see your pediatric dentist. (Don't worry, I'll still see you after your appointment! Just text me once you get there! I'm off at 11.)
