1) The earth was created in six days and rested on the seventh day.
2) Adam and Eve were not the first humans to be born, but they are the only ones who ever lived.
3)
Noah was a righteous man who built an ark for his family and saved them
from drowning. He is also considered to be one of the greatest heroes
in history.
4) Noah and his family were the first to build a boat on this new world!
5) The flood did not cover the entire earth. It would have taken too long to completely destroy all life. Instead God destroyed what he pleased from above. The waters covered the mountains, the land and anything in it. They even covered some of the air we breathe. Everything was dead, everything was water and everything was covered by it. Everything but the boat Noah built. It must have been made of tremendous wood and metal because it withstood all this water. It did not float either, but withstood the pressure of the water around it. When the flood waters subsided, it must have been night because there was no sun that day. God could not see in the darkness and so he made a light to help him see. He made a fire also out of the green plants that grew after the flood. Light and heat are not good for plant life so God caused all plant life to wither and die soon after the flood.
There were a few animals that came out of the flood as well. These included the great whales, the lion, the serpent and the birds (which could not fly on the water). God decided that these animals were worthy to live on this earth and so he made a land for them. All of them came to Noah to find a place to live. This was after the flood.
6) The devil was as angry when God destroyed life on earth as you or I would be. He did not have all that much life left! He is the one who convinced Cain to kill his brother, the one who convinced people to worship idols and the one who convinced some of the others to not come into the boat. He is the one who tempted Christ in the wilderness and he will probably convince someone to kill him in the future as well. How do we know this? Because that's what happens when the end times come. Good versus evil, day of judgment, Satan will try to stop God from saving the world and he will use anyone who will follow him to his dark ways.
7) During the flood, God made a rainbow in the sky to let Noah know it wasn't a storm. He also told him to look at it so he could remember that God had saved him. This was a sign of God's promise to always keep him and his family safe. (Genesis 9:12-16)
8) Abraham was a righteous man who had three sons: Isaac, Ishmael and Jacob. He married into a Jewish family that already existed in Canaan, so he knew the land well. He was told by an angel to leave his home, so he did. He traveled to a place called Ur, which is now-a-days the country of Iraq, then he traveled even further to a place called Canaan. His family included a wife, four sons and two daughters. He was a man of God who rejected the gods of his neighbors.
9) Moses led the Israelites from Egypt and saved them from being killed or taken as slaves. He also split the Red Sea open and led the Israelites through it. He was a man of God and saw the angel of God. The people worshipped him as a prophet, so powerful was he in their eyes.
10) David was a man after God's own heart and he proved it many times. He fought the bestial men of his day and survived many dangers. He killed giant beasts and freed his nation from the rule of other nations.
11) Samson led the Israelites against the rulers of Philistia and freed them from lands they owned. He was a hero who had great physical strength. He cut through metal railings like they were butter.
12) Jonah ran away from his duty to God when he saw the awfulness of sin and the Lord's anger toward it. He ran to a place where he wouldn't be bothered, and ultimately he ran out of there altogether.
13) Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers but was eventually placed in charge of his brothers' Egyptian store-city. During this time he protected his nation from evil and was a great ruler of Egypt.
14) Daniel defied the king of Babylon and saved the Jews from destruction. He refused to dishonor his God and was thrown into a den of hungry lions. He survived and went on to become a greater leader for his people.
