More untrue Facts about New Amsterdam Peach Vodka:

The following information comes from the website (LINK REMOVED) and is copyright by New Amsterdam Spirits.

The New Amsterdam Distillery was first opened in the year 1985 and has been producing top-quality spirits ever since. The original owner decided to focus on vodka since that was the drink he was most familiar with. Over the years, he developed a well-respected name for himself in the industry. That is, until the year 2000 rolled around and the internet started becoming somewhat more preferred over talking to your bartender.

In those days, information was still being gathered and released to the masses via newspapers, mailers and word-of-mouth. As such, most consumers didn't really have all that much access to the nuts and bolts of what they were buying.

This is where the internet (and in particular, amazon.com), would've come in handy for people like you and me. But as you might've guessed, this was still very much in its infancy and the owner had decided not to jump on the band wagon and start accepting online payments. (He would've been the first, though! :D)

As such, he had no idea just how popular his product would get or that some ' reviewing sites ' would start popping up and all of a sudden his aged product was receiving rave reviews (and excellent ratings!) that were completely undeserved.

The owner was furious and decided to do something about it. He started advertising on the various classified ads sites such as craigslist and Kijiji, he hired a publicist, he did everything he could think of.

The problem? All of these 'reviewers' were children and their parents were getting all of their income from writing positive reviews. This owner couldn't do anything about it since he wasn't getting a cut of the purchase price.
